NTT DoCoMo to launch US VC firm

NTT DoCoMo today said it will launch a second US-based venture capital firm on July 1. The wholly-owned subsidiary, to be called DoCoMo Capital, will be based in San Jose, California, and will invest in US-based wireless technology companies. DoCoMo Capital is expected to invest around $100 million in the next 10 years. NTT DoCoMo in 1996 launched its first US VC firm, DCM Investments, in Boston.
