Mobile social networking is in for a facelift: Mobile IM and email developer OZ is going to tackle the social networking craze with its own solution, which will ensure "proper billing control and support" for mobile carriers and social network operators alike. OZ plans to build social network portals into its already popular pre-loaded messaging clients, of which the company has shipped more than 70 million so far. OZ also promises that every social networking service will mirror the PC-based experience--no short order. OZ will also enable the billing models that will help carriers and social network operators to capitalize on the messaging traffic generated by the social networkers. Perhaps this is the end of mobile IM?
