LAS VEGAS--As the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show winds down, it's time to evaluate the devices that came out of the show. As expected, the market's big players did not offer much in the way of new hardware. Nokia (NYSE:NOK), Samsung and Research In Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM) all decided to withhold large smartphone announcements for another day, possibly at future trade shows or even their own media events. Into that void stepped a number of up-and-coming companies, including Huawei, ZTE and TCL's Alcatel One Touch. Thus, it's worth taking a look back at the phones that were announced during this year's CES and to discuss what makes them important (or not important, as the case may be).
