PicoChip snags $20.5M third round

Wireless chip startup PicoChip secured $20.5 million in third round funding. Scottish Equity Partners led the round with participaton from Intel Capital, Rothschild, and previous investors Pond Venture Partners and Atlas Venture. The company has developed scalable wireless chip technology that can be used for a number of technologies, including WiMax, WCDMA, and TD-SCDMA. PicoChip is a member of the 2005 FierceWireless Fierce 15, an annual list of the top emerging wireless companies.
