Qwest now selling Verizon services
Qwest has started reselling Verizon Wireless voice and data services to its residential and business customers. In May, Qwest announced that it was dropping Sprint Nextel as its provider of wireless services in favor of Verizon Wireless. At that time, it was estimated that the move would cost Sprint about 860,000 customers.
Qwest will start contacting its existing Qwest Wireless customers to switch them to Verizon handsets and calling plans. Qwest says it will waive the contract termination fees for Qwest Wireless customers who switch to Verizon Wireless. In addition, those customers who sign on for Verizon service will be eligible for exclusive offers from Verizon for a limited time.

We were told in October that this migration would be coming in February. We live in a rural community and there in no where in a 200 mile radius where we can get Verizon. We spoke with qwest 4 different days last week and were told we would have to iniate the transfer in a Verizon store. Since we don't have one we went to a cell phone company that was in our area. Know Qwest is telling us that we can not disconnect our cell phone because they have changed the date on the actual migration time. We only did what we were told to do and know we are going to be stuck with a cell phone bill. No one mentioned to us that we had untill the middle of 2009 to make this transfer. This is not fair, they will not admit to any error or confusion on there part. I just want to disconnect my cell phones and keep my home phone and internet.
