Radioshack, Trumpet launch prepaid mobile money

Prepaid wireless services company Trumpet Mobile is teaming up with RadioShack to offer prepaid wireless services at more than 4,300 RadioShacks nationwide. Trumpet Mobile is centering its offering on the prepaid mobile money transfer market by giving subscribers the ability to make Western Union money transfers within the U.S. and to Latin America and the Caribbean from their mobile phones. The companies are targeting the Latinos in the U.S. and the unbanked.

Trumpet offers a prepaid family plan, 10 cents per minute for domestic calls, international long distance rates starting at three cents per minute, messaging starting at five cents per message and a rewards program.
