Ranking the top 8 U.S. wireless carriers

The big headline from the second-quarter earnings season among U.S. wireless carriers was that Sprint (NYSE: S) lost its spot as the No. 3 carrier in the U.S. market to T-Mobile US (NYSE:TMUS) in terms of total subscribers, ceding a spot it had held for a decade. However, there was a lot more going on than that. The four Tier 1 carriers managed to grow subscribers despite an onslaught of promotions, and they kept churn low. Additionally, all of the top carriers, even those outside the Tier 1 carriers, are contending with weaker year-over-year service ARPU, as more revenue shifts to equipment sales with the rise of equipment installment plans. Thanks to a partnership between FierceWireless and Strategy Analytics, we're bringing you all of the charts and stats to make sense of the second quarter. Check out this special report
