Report: U.S. cellular industry will grow despite recession

A report by Strategy Analytics said that despite the economic recession, the U.S. cellular industry is expected to grow in 2009, though at a slower rate than in 2008. The report said that cellular service revenues will grow at a rate of 3.9 percent, compared to 7.5 percent in 2008, and that strong data ARPU from flat-rate data plans as well as continued smartphone growth would boost the industry.
