Report: Verizon's EV-DO testing drains batteries

Tools

According to reports from local newspapers, Verizon Wireless' CDMA2000 1xEV-DO service tests are draining the batteries of some customers' phones. Local subscribers testing out the service say their fully charged phones drain within an hour or two, in some cases, while testing the advanced data services. While the carrier has not responded to the claims, reports say the carrier has switched the testing to night hours to limit the effects the beta service might have on local subscribers. Bloggers recommended the subscribers to disable EV-DO service on their handsets to extend battery life.
