Report: Verizon Wireless, YouTube in talks
The Wall Street Journal reports that Verizon Wireless and YouTube are in serious talks to bring the video website's content to mobile phones. That certainly is a major coup for Verizon if it pulls it off--given YouTube's proliferation on the Internet. Visitors to YouTube, which is being acquired by Google for $1.65 billion, watch more than 100 million videos daily, Time named YouTube "Invention of the Year." One major hurdle, however, is re-formating videos for mobile consumption. Homemade videos will present some big quality challenges. One interesting offshoot, however, could be a surge of videos shot with a camera phone.

One of my biggest complaints against YouTube has been how hard it is just to get your login to work properly. Hopefully, Google will be able to fix that problem.
