Report: Voice-over-LTE fragmentation could slow deployments

The debate over how voice and SMS services should be transmitted over LTE networks could harm the LTE ecosystem if the issue is not resolved soon, according to new research by Frost & Sullivan. The research firm examined the competing proposals, including Voice over LTE via Generic Access (VoLGA), Nokia Siemens Networks' Fast Track solution and the One Voice IMS-based approach. The firm found that a lack of consensus could slow large-scale LTE rollouts, and could give mobile WiMAX players a flaw to exploit. Release
