Reports say Vodafone/Verizon deal close

Shares of Vodafone Group are flying high amid new reports of a possible sale of its stake in Verizon Wireless to partner Verizon Communications. According to British newspaper the Observer, Verizon Communications is close to buying out Vodafone's stake in Verizon Wireless for $48 billion--the price industry observers have been circulating as the right value for Vodafone's half of the business. Apparently the two companies have been in discussions for a while but haven't been able to agree on a price.
