RIM launches BB Unite, profit doubles in Q2

Research In Motion posted strong results for its Q2: revenue more than doubled to $1.37 billion from the year-earlier $658.5 million. Net income was also up: $287.7 million, or 50 cents a share. That's up from $140.2 million, or 25 cents a share. Like other handset makers, RIM has become more bullish about mobile content: RIM launched BlackBerry Unite, a free service that lets small groups of users, like families, share content like calendars, music and documents.
