Samsung to review $600M advertising budget

According to a report from Advertising Age, Samsung is reviewing its estimated $600 million global advertising account. The U.S. account, which is reportedly worth $152 million, is currently handled by WPP Group's MindShare. The most recent data suggests that Samsung spent some $626 million on advertising worldwide in 2005. Publicis Group's Leo Burnett Worldwide currently handles creative advertising and branding. Samsung is a difficult ad account, the report claims, because of internal politics and a requirement that outside agencies work with Cheil Communications, a South Korean firm that handles the company's marketing.
