Samsung taps TI for next-gen phones

Tools

Samsung has extended its agreement with Texas Instruments to use the company's OMAP platforms and Bluetooth technologies in its upcoming handsets. Samsung's BlackJack made use of TI's OMAP1710 processor and the handsetmaker's SGH-i620 makes use of it too.

"We are pleased to deepen our relationship with Samsung and enjoy
seeing the continued growth of the Samsung product line," said Raj Talluri,
worldwide general manager for TI's Cellular Media Systems Solutions group.
"Samsung is maximizing the capabilities of TI's OMAP platform and
connectivity solutions to deliver some of the most advanced feature phones
on the market today."
