Six-month-old mobile Linux group now named

Tools

Six months ago, Motorola, NEC, Panasonic, Samsung, DoCoMo and Vodafone formed a group to create an open-source platform for mobile phones, now that group has a name: the LiMo Foundation. Don't confuse LiMo with the LiPS Forum, whose goal is similar but membership includes TI, ZTE, Freescale, France Telecom, Telecom Italia, Trolltech, PamSource and McAfee. LiMo is mostly a group of handset makers that intend to create an API specification, architecture, references to open-source code, new source code-based reference implementation components and specs for third-party software.
