Sony Ericsson president Miles Flint to step down

Miles Flint has resigned as president of Sony Ericsson effective this November. Hideki 'Dick' Komiyama, currently chairman of the board at Sony Electronics USA and Sony's EVP of electronics marketing and sales strategies, will succeed the departing executive. Flint will remain on call as an executive advisor to Komiyama until the end of the year.

"After nearly 17 years in Sony and Sony Ericsson, I wish to develop new personal and business opportunities and intend to take a short career break before deciding on my next steps," Flint said in a statement. "I believe that, together, we have put in place very firm foundations for the next phase of Sony Ericsson's growth, and I wish Dick Komiyama every success in his new role."
