No surprise here, incumbent telcos whose countries have banned Skype see a sizable jump in revenues following the ban. Jordan recently banned Skype to aid the country's incumbent telco monopoly, but ultimately rescinded the ban. The UAE, however, banned the VoIP pureplay and Etisalat, the country's main telco, saw profits jump 41 percent in the recent quarter. Of course, there has also been an economic boom in the region.
