SPOTLIGHT: NJ teen gets iPhone to work on T-Mobile USA
In an elaborate hack, a 17-year-old from New Jersey named George Hotz has managed to unlock his iPhone and get it up and running on T-Mobile USA's network. While T-Mobile USA subscribers now have a glimmer of hope for using the device, it's big news for most international mobile users looking for an iPhone as well. Unlock an iPhone is not a technical issue any more. In Shanghai, there is a M8 Labs where you can pay RMB50 ($8) to open up your iPhone for you. This M8 is on the 3rd floor of Mei-Luo-Chen in XuJiaHui area, the CBD heart of Shanghai.

In one university of nanjing, 3 Ph.Ds are reversing engineering the iPhone hardware and software architecture under the Ph.D topic of "Architecture of Future Mobile Internet Terminal Systems" with funding of RMB500,000 ($70K).

We will see more publications on iPhone from China, not from US.
