SPOTLIGHT: Palm to launch Treo 500v in Europe

Tools

Sister publication DailyTechRag called it yesterday: Palm announced today that the Treo 500v smartphone (previously codenamed "Gandolf") will launch on Vodafone's 3G network in Europe next month. The handset runs on Windows Mobile 6, sports full QWERTY, a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth and 150MB of onboard memory. It also supports SMS, IM, full email and expansion via a MicroSD card slot. The Treo 500 will be available in two colors, the standard "charcoal black" (photo) and the oh-so-chic, iPod-esque "glacier white" (photo). What's more, Palm is hoping to give it away for free on most carriers--with a contract, of course. Article
