SPOTLIGHT: Telephia: 2M mobile TV subscribers in Q1

Research from Telephia shows that more than 2 million, or 1.4 percent of the U.S. wireless customer base, subscribed to a mobile video plan in the first quarter. The average mobile TV subscriber spends about $40 per month or more on wireless services than non-TV subscribers, the firm said. Further, Telephia said the Hispanic and Black/African-American demographic segments consisted of 23 percent and 19 percent, respectively, of the mobile TV subscriber base in the U.S. during the first quarter. This is about double the share these groups represent of the broader mobile user population. Telephia also announced it has launched a mobile television user panel. Release
