Sprint CEO: We fixed Boost's texting problem

During today's earnings call with investors, Sprint Nextel CEO Dan Hesse said the company has fixed Boost's previously reported texting issues by adding capacity to the texting platform. "We did have some delays. We were surprised. We had more demand than anticipated. We have taken the steps necessary to boost capacity," Hesse said.

Hesse's comments followed reports from customers and dealers of text messaging delays on Boost Mobile's unlimited $50 voice and data plan. Last week John Votava, a spokesman for Boost, told the AP that the texting problems were simply the result of the influx of new customers to the plan, and denied that there are long-standing problems with the Nextel network. "The popularity of Boost Mobile caught us off guard. It overwhelmed our system," he said.

I know from talking to switch techs and field techs at Sprint that they do not maintain or upgrade the IDEN network like the CDMA network. It has all but been forgotten. You will see it breakdown as more subs are added and the system is taxed.

If you knew what you were talking about you would know that the SMS capacity delays had nothing to do with the macro network. It was the SMS servers that handle the nationwide traffic were inundated. That's where capacity was added.

as of 5/14/09 texting from a pc, service that Boost offers from Their website, (click: get help)is not working. it's never worked for me. i have tried to text from the web using SKYPE. it didn't work very often, or was delivered to my Boost phone hours or a day late. Something is going on? I know Sprint's stock is up. again, something is going on?

If YOU knew what YOU were talking about, you would know Nextel/Boost doesn't even use SMS......

i want to open a boots mobile store in oakland ca
how do i do it??????

they did not fix the problem boost mobile sux don't fall for the trick.

The best way Sprint makes money is thru billing errors. three times I have had problems with Sprint's magic billing.I have spent days on the phone with their CS persons trying to fix my billing problems. At one point it was like "let's Make A Deal" because no one could firgure out what my total bill amount was. I got 6 different amounts from 3 different CS people.I am no longer a Sprint customer and no longer need a cell phone as I have gotten around without one for many years before, besides any cell phone can access 911 and that is all I need.

why do you retards lie about "fixing your gay towers" in terms if the text msg issues everyone seems to have? Futher more why doesn't the CEO grow some balls and actualy fix the cancer within Boost Mobile? WHY?WHY?WHY?
WOW!!! i just got a call back from a boost mobile rep and after fifteen min she hung up on me because i told the non speaking dumb woman she couldn't help me nor could she help any one of us who have an issue with a boost phone,
sure they can lie to you but who wants that?
Your company has no tact, doesnt fallow through and are weak in fixing all issues.
last but not least hire AMERICANS who talk clearly please...

I just want to know how many of you out there are having this problem with text messages like i am???!!!!! Seriously, ive had this phone for almost a year and have gotten the "run around" about how towers are down, or now its because their upgrading their "platforms"...whatever that means to a customer. She said they have gotten alot of people calling in with this problem for quite a LONG TIME....well....FIX IT THEN! Anyone out there just tell me if you have text problems, alot of reviews say they can receive texts just not the other way around, but i dont receive texts over 90% of the time, mine is fine going out to other people. Stressful!!
