Sprint did not pull the LG Rumor

Tools

Last week there were various reports that Sprint had pulled its LG Rumor handset (photo) from store shelves because of an undisclosed software issue, but the carrier has issued a response to Phone Scoop that the phone is actually available--it's just sold-out at a lot of retail locations. The original rumor claimed that certain key presses during startup can trigger an erasure of the phones firmware, which is why LG has stopped shipping the handset to retail outlets until the bug is fixed and an over-the-air download is available.
