Sprint: Family Locator for all web-ready phones
Sprint announced today that its Family Locator application is now available for all Web-enabled Sprint phones and about 100 Sprint phones can be tracked by the service. The application allows family members to locate each other using GPS technology. Parents can track their child's location from an online Web portal or via their own handset. The service gives the address, surrounding landmarks and the accuracy of the child's location within a specific radius. The Locator app also lets parents set Safety Checks at specified times. These checks notify the parent automatically whether or not the child is at the specified landmark at a set time.

Regardless of what the Sprint press release says, they can NOT track a child's location. What they can do is track the location of the child's phone. There's a big difference, and kids will figure this out way before the parents do. :-)
