Sprint Nextel is poised to change the dynamics of the mobile music industry by expanding its partnership with Sirius Satellite Radio and offering a subscription-based music download service. Operators, or course, like subscription plans because they get paid monthly regardless of whether a customer downloads music. However, the ability to offer a subscription has been hampered by digital-rights-management issues. The mobile music enablers have been working on this issue.
