Sprint: Our iPad plans offer 20% more data than plans from AT&T, Verizon
Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S) introduced a suite of new, no-contract data plans for LTE tablets, timed to coincide with the introduction of Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) new fourth-generation iPad and the iPad mini. Both of the Apple gadgets support LTE and will be Sprint's first iPad offerings.

Some of the new Sprint no-contract plans offer up to 20 percent more data for the same price as comparable plans from AT&T Mobility (NYSE:T) and Verizon Wireless (NYSE:VZ), Sprint boasted. Sprint is offering 300 MB for $15, 3 GB for $35, 6 GB for $50 and 12 GB for $80. The three more expensive plans are identical to Sprint's older, contract-based mobile broadband plans.
Verizon's no-contract tablet data plans offer 1 GB for $20, 2 GB for $30, 5 GB for $50 and 10 GB for $80. AT&T offers 250 MB for $15, 3 GB of data for $30 per month and 5 GB of data for $50 as part of its no-contract tablet plans.
In addition to the new plans, for a limited time Sprint said its smartphone customers can add a tablet to their account with a specially discounted rate plan that includes 1 GB of data for only $15 per month or 100 MB for $10 per month. Sprint also said for a limited time it is waiving the activation fee on all 3G/4G LTE tablets.
The 7.9-inch iPad mini with LTE will go on sale in mid-November. Sprint will also sell the LTE-capable iPad, which sports a larger 9.7-inch screen and will go on sale at the same time as the LTE iPad mini. Sprint's only other LTE tablet is the Samsung GalaxyTab 2 10.1.
