Sprint, Palm planning 'war rooms' for Pre launch
It's no secret that Sprint Nextel and Palm have a lot riding on the June 6 launch of the Palm Pre, and they are taking extra measures to ensure that the launch goes smoothly by preparing "situation rooms" and "war rooms" to handle issues that may come up. The situation rooms will handle any problems that may arise during the launch, especially technical support issues, and will also provide a place for store representatives to get answers via live chat. Further, Extra Sprint employees will be called on to handle possible crowds, and Palm is sending its own employees to 100 Sprint stores around the country. Article

Yes, I am fearful of crowds too, and though it's probably not necessary, I'm going to camp outside the Sprint store starting at 2 AM (this one opens early at 8 AM).
I got an invitation from Sprint as a premier customer for the Friday evening launch party. Should I have to get in line on that evening?
sprint pissed then unpissed me off..i qualified for premiere status earlier this year. got the treo pro after having an htc touch for a year..got the discount but a technicality ruined my premiere status...instead of keeping the 450 everything data for 69.99 i broke everything down becuz i had phone as modem for hatever reason it was cheaper...the computer didn't count me as a premiere customer anymore becuz..get this...it only counted the 39.99 as my monthly bill and not the addons i had..30-text n data.15 phone as modem..7 insurance...so i never received my launch party invite...HOWEVER i am happy to report i am SUPPOSED to be able to attend becuz corporate/ the premiere division of sprint placed a comment explaining the situation n that i am to be allowed to attend and purchase a pre june 5th...note at first the indian employee was crap..but after i was transfered to an american employee good things happened...so..yea..anyway..peace
I'm not sure what the deal is with the rebate at Sprint stores but no rebate in the other places the Pre will be sold. So why would I go to a Sprint store? I plan on going to radio shack if they have any.
