Sprint says Instinct is breaking sales records
Sprint says demand is high for its new Samsung Instinct touchscreen EVDO device. The phone, which first became available to Sprint customers June 19 and available to all customers on June 20, is breaking sales records. Sales are so strong, in fact, that the carrier has sold more Instinct handsets in its first week than any other EVDO device, breaking pre-existing sales records. The strong sales have led to some temporary shortages at some store locations.
Of course, Sprint's marketing machine has been in overdrive promoting the phone, which retails for $129 with a two-year contract and a $100 mail-in rebate. The carrier is offering bloggers $20 to promote the phone in their blogs.

This is stunning news for Sprint. Hooray for Sprint. Keep up the good work. I was rooting for you!!!
Anybody else curious as to how many of the devices have been sold? It's nice to know that Sprint is breaking records with this phone, but some metrics to back up the "record-breaking" claims would be more substantial. Fierce Wireless should dig a little deeper on this one.
Just think how many more Instincts would be sold if they were able to allow all of their indirect channels to order and sell this phone. As a store owner we have lost close to 50 new activations from our customers who are on other carriers because Sprint did not allow their own dealers to sell this phone!
Agreed. The silence is deafening especially given the recently revealed sales success of the iPhone, 1 million units in three days.
Please send me your whole story. I've exper. the same and more and I'd love to get your imput. How can we increase sales if we are denied new product but corp. stores put in place just 1 mile away are given plenty of instinct.
