Struggling i-mate is up for sale

Dubai-based phone maker i-mate is peddling itself to potential buyers. The struggling company, which has issued a second profit warning this financial year, says that its main chip supplier has failed to supply it with the required volume of chips resulting in the company being unable to sell its full range of devices in the U.S.

i-mate CEO Jim Morrison said that while i-mate has devices that are not dependent upon that chip set, it has significantly impacted the firm's product line resulting in i-mate having to review its strategic options.
