AT&T bows first Windows Mobile 6 device

Tools

AT&T launched its first Windows Mobile 6 powered smartphone this week: the HTC Tilt. The Tilt's features include high-speed data access (UMTS/HSDPA), multiple email options, location-based services, expandable memory, and a 3-megapixel camera. The QWERTY handset's name comes from the movement of its screen, which tilts up. The Tilt will be made commercially available today both online and in retail stores for $299.99 with a two-year subscription to AT&T, after a mail-in rebate.

Comments

This article is a bit off in that this is the first Windows Mobile device being launched by AT&T. This "cellular company" has a history of Windows Mobile powered devices going back to the SMT5600 from Audiovox.

why is the article saying first Windows Mobile device? AT&T/Cingular have shipped WM devices for years... did you mean to say first WM6?

This is definitely not the first Windows Mobile device for AT&T. It is the first Windows Mobile 6 device, but they have issued at least 5 Windows Mobile devices to date (8125, 8525, 3125, Palm 750 and Samsung Blackjack).

UPDATE: Meant to say Windows Mobile 6.

The article specifies that it's the first Mobile 6 device - not first Windows Mobile.
