AT&T CEO reiterates support for wireless exemption to net neutrality

AT&T (NYSE:T) has been one of the most vocal opponents of the FCC's consideration of net neutrality regulations for wireless, and that has not changed in the slightest. AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson said he generally supports the proposal that Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) and Google submitted on the issue in August, which calls for prohibiting paid prioritization of wired Internet traffic but exempts wireless. Stephenson told the Dallas Morning News that wireless should "absolutely" be exempted. "We're obsolescing technology in seven, eight year curves right now in this part of the industry. And how do you come in and impose regulations on something that is moving that quick, with volumes growing at that kind pace?" he said. "The business models are still in flux. Whatever regulation you put in, 12 months from now will look silly." Article
