AT&T launches new quick-texting phones

Ahead of the holiday shopping season, AT&T Mobility has launched a new line of phones specifically geared toward text-messaging capabilities.

AT&T debuted the Pantech Matrix today, which will be followed by the Samsung Propel and Pantech Slate later this month and the followed by the UTStarcom Quickfire in November. All four phones have full QWERTY keyboards and are available under AT&T's messaging plans that offer 200, 1,500 and unlimited messaging for $5, $15 and $20, respectively.

The Pantech Matrix and Samsung Propel are $79.99 with a two-year service contract after a $50 mail-in rebate, and the Slate is $49.99 and Quickfire is $99.99, both with two-year contracts and $50 mail-in rebates.
