T-Mobile business customers to get BlackBerry Curve 8900 first

Tools

T-Mobile USA will launch Research In Motion's BlackBerry Curve 8900 for its business customers Jan. 19, with a full launch coming on Feb. 11, according to the unofficial T-Mobile blog TmoNews, which cited a leaked internal T-Mobile memo.

T-Mobile announced last week that it was launching the phone in the coming weeks, but did not provide specific launch dates.

The quad-band global phone has a full QWERTY keyboard and built-in GPS and WiFi capabilities. It also has a 3.2-megapixel camera, a music player, a 3.5mm stereo headset jack and a microSD slot capable of holding up to 16GB. The device, along with the Shadow II and rumored Samsung Memoir, which will carry an 8-megapixel camera, beefs up the carrier's smartphone portfolio as it looks to expand its 3G UMTS network into 2009.

There is still no pricing information available on the device.
