T-Mobile pulls Slide; Verizon offers Venus, Voyager

Tools

T-Mobile USA surreptitiously pulled its new Sidekick Slide from store shelves late Friday night following a number of user complaints about the keyboard's inability to "slide" without restarting the phone. Australian buyers of Motorola's Hiptop Slide had similar issues with their handsets.

Verizon Wireless launched two new phones from LG: the Venus (pic) and the Voyager (pic). Both handsets sport a 2.0 megapixel camera, VZ Navigator (capability), a microSD memory slot and dual screen displays. The Voyager has an external touch-screen while the Venus has two external screens, with the bottom one featuring touch technology. Both are VCast-enabled as well.
