First Verizon Wireless pro-rated their early termination fees, then AT&T did. Today both Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile USA have committed to declining their ETFs over the course of a customer's contract starting sometime next year. Neither carrier would discuss the specifics of the plan, but T-Mobile USA said the new policy would only affect new customers and existing customers who change their contracts with the carrier.
