Thompson and Edwards to keynote CTIA
FierceWireless has learned that former presidential contenders Fred Thompson and John Edwards are set to keynote the third day of CTIA Wireless, which takes place next week in Las Vegas, Nevada. Expect a formal announcement this afternoon. Typically the keynotes on the last day of the event are celebrities or big name politicians who have the star power to lure attendees back to the conference hall after a long week. In a recent interview with FierceWireless, CTIA Vice President of Operations Rob Mesirow played up the prospect of a big name for the third keynote of the show:
"There is a Day Three keynote but we can't talk about it just yet," Mesirow teased at the time. "We have a bit of a reputation for having really big Day Three keynotes--last year we had former President [George H. W.] Bush and [former President] Bill Clinton. We've got to top that. And I believe we will."

Where Edwards only qualifies to speak about possible litigation the industry might be susceptible to, Fred Thompson has already demonstrated he fully understands and explains the value of good communication;

I'm not sure how something put together most likely by a staffer years ago really reflects Fred Thompson's understanding of communication and technology issues.
For a bit more on where Edwards currently stands, and yes he knows a lot more abuot these issues than litigation, here's a good start:
