TI's balancing act in move from baseband chips

Texas Instruments' decision to shift away from baseband chip technology represents a difficult balancing act for the company. TI must try to make do without the cash of the baseband business--which made up around 20 percent of its overall 2008 revenue--while avoiding a precipitous drop in its stock price.
