TI lowers Q4 outlook over mobile chipsets

Tools

Texas Instruments has lowered its expectations for the fourth quarter: Semiconductor revenue should come in between $3.43 billion to $3.57 billion, according to the company. That estimate is down from a previous estimate of $3.33 billion to $3.59 billion in revenue during the quarter. The reason for the downgrade is that TI's biggest customer, Nokia, has decided to work with other chipset suppliers like Broadcom and STMicroelectronics. TI's other big customer, Ericsson, decided to start working with other chipset providers last year.
