Verizon unveils integrated services

Verizon announced its new Verizon Business unit will offer a line of integrated services, including wireless and wired network access offerings, that will take advantage of MCI's operations that were merged into Verizon. The integrated wireline/wireless offerings combine Verizon Wireless' EV-DO broadband network with the former MCI's remote access platform to create a secure means of enabling workers to access corporate data networks and the Internet while traveling or working away from the office. With 75 offices around the globe as a result of its MCI acquisition, Verizon said it will introduce similar offerings to business customers in other countries, as local conditions allow. It will be interesting to see how Verizon works to port its brand outside of the U.S.
