Verizon Wireless faces another credit lawsuit

A Verizon Wireless subscriber is suing the carrier and TransUnion in an Alabama federal court for continuing to try to collect $1,000 that the plaintiff says he does not owe the carrier. Johnny Howard said that the carrier and its agent TransUnion have falsely reported the disputed debt on his credit reports. Howard believes he is the victim of identity theft, but followed the carrier's instructions to fill out a police report and send it to the carrier, according to the suit.

"This wrongful conduct has drastically impacted plaintiff's credit score and credit worthiness and has caused him past and future monetary loss, past and future emotional distress, and other damages that will be presented," the lawsuit states.

Verizon Wireless and Alltel both faced class-action credit lawsuits last month, but those suits were over credit privacy.

Verizon Wireless also unjustly dinged my credit history. They claimed I owed $65, never sent a bill, could not justify it when I called them, and then I paid them just to get them off my back. In spite of this, they put a negative report in my credit history and refused to take it out.

Verizon Wireless has done the same to me. I bought a 2nd phone and line for my fiance. Paid for the phone in cash and was quoted a bill no higher than $200 a month. After the 1st month I was receiving bills for over $600. I had called them up numerous times disputing the charges and made sure neither phone was going over minutes usage or anything of the sorts. when I finally had enough and tried to cancel the service they would not cancel until I paid past due amount that were not supposed to be there in the first place. 2 cell phone lines with basic stuff do not cost $600 a month. That company need to stop this BS and get their act together

Verizon Wireless changed billing systems and many people were impacted by this and credit ratings were effected. I would like to find out how many people and get a class action lawsuit together. They are stating they can only submit to the bureaus this issue and nothing more can be done.

This is absurd. I worked for the company and I was also effected by this, and they have claimed it was their mistake and they will take it off but have not. They claimed this is my responsibility. Please post your information so we can get a class action suit against them.

Are there any other Alltel customers out there that are being switched to Verizon this month, that are not happy about the way it is being done? We have not been given a choice, but are forced to change to a company that we may not want. I have nothing against Verizon, but resent being told that I cannot choose my phone company. There should be a class action suit to change this. If anyone agrees, please respond.
