Verizon Wireless intros field force application

Verizon Wireless introduced location-based services for the field force management market, announcing Field Force Manager, a Web-based application that allows a host of LBS applications. For instance, the business office can map the location of field workers, jobs and other activities in near real-time as well as schedule and dispatch jobs. Workers also can receive turn-by-turn directions and submit time cards. The service, however, is only available on the Motorola v325. Field force management has been pretty much dominated by Sprint Nextel, but since last summer, Verizon has stepped up its efforts in this area. It's a huge addressable market.
