Verizon Wireless sues Sprint over interconnects

Verizon Wireless has filed a lawsuit against Sprint Nextel for allegedly failing to pay $10 million in interconnection fees. The suit was filed in Delaware federal court.

"Verizon has repeatedly attempted to resolve this dispute short of litigation," the suit stated. "Yet these attempts, made over many months and through both written and personal communications, have been fruitless. Accordingly, Verizon has been forced to seek relief from this court."

Meanwhile, Sprint is attempting to get the FCC to confirm that AT&T must honor an interconnection condition it agreed to as a condition for gaining approval of its merger with BellSouth in 2006.

Amazing that rates are as cheap as they are. These carriers all sue and get sued daily. It is a legal fest for the legal staffs retained. If I am a youngster going to law school today...I am choosing telecom law. You will never be out of work. Look at divestiure 1984 and Teecomm act of 1996...they create years of work. I am not so sure that telecomm is right there with healthcare in the US. Messed Up!

So what ever happen to the "You use our network for roaming and we use yours for roaming and we forget the fees?" I guess Verizon just loves filing lawsuits. Every few months Verizon files a new one.
Being a big bully is Verizon's MO.

I am so sick of reading about all of these stupid lawsuits! Verizon is such a horrible, worthless company!!!

Funny, you rant on VZW for wanting what Sprint contractually agreed to pay? Sounds more like you ought to be ranting on Sprint for not paying its bills!
