Virgin Mobile launch of Helio Ocean 2 imminent

Virgin Mobile USA will launch the Helio Ocean 2 phone in conjunction with Britney Spears' new concert tour, and the phone will reportedly launch on Feb. 12, according to the blog Mobile Crunch.

Virgin Mobile released a press release stating that it would sponsor the new concert tour, and also casually mentioned that it would  release the new multimedia phone along with the tour, which is set to begin March 3. The blog said that the device would launch  Feb. 12.

The phone is said to have a dual-slider keyboard, an optical sensor for touchpad-style navigation, a full HTML browser with tabbed browsing, 2GB of internal storage and a 2-megapixel camera. The phone's main feature will be an upgraded Ultimate Inbox that supports threaded text messages and instant messaging. When Helio was a stand-alone MVNO before Virgin Mobile purchased it last summer, the Ocean was its standout device offering a large array of multimedia services.
