Virgin Mobile USA is launching a prepaid Novatel MiFi service as part of Sprint Nextel's (NYSE: S) prepaid push. 

The prepaid brand, which was relaunched last month under the umbrella of Sprint's multi-pronged prepaid strategy, will begin offering the device at Best Buy, RadioShack and online starting June 28. Like the MiFi offerings from Sprint or Verizon Wireless (NYSE:VZ), the device essentially turns a 3G signal into a WiFi hotspot for up to five devices. 

Virgin Mobile representatives told PCMag.com that the device will cost $149, with data costs ranging from  $10 for 100 MB to $60 for 5 GB. Users can top up their accounts in a variety of ways, including debit and credit cards.

Sprint kicked Virgin Mobile back into life last month with several new service plans, focused mainly on subscribers who want the latest phones and are heavy social networking users.
