Vodafone: 3G handset subsidies not worth it

Vodafone said it is just not willing to plug as much money as it has in the past to convince subscribers to actually use 3G services. The company stopped its practice of heavily subsidizing 3G handsets, saying it doesn't make financial sense if people are simply not paying for enough extra services to justify the subsidies. Enders Analysis says that sales of 3G phones had plummeted from 20 percent of all handsets bought to 12 percent in just one quarter.
