Vodafone hanging on to Verizon

Another day, another story about Vodafone and Verizon Wireless. This time the news is that Vodafone has decided not to exercise its option to sell its $54 billion stake in the U.S. carrier. A formal announcement from Vodafone on its decision is expected later this week.

When it comes to Vodafone and its ownership stake in Verizon, the rumor mill has been in overdrive lately. Just last month rumors circulated that Vodafone was interested in buying out its partner Verizon (not just the wireless carrier) for some $160 billion.
