Vodafone K.K. looks to MVNOs to spur business

Troubled carrier Vodafone K.K. said it plans to offer wholesale wireless access to companies looking to launch Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) services in Japan. Vodafone K.K. said it hopes that reselling wireless service to MVNOs will help it jump start revenue grwoth. Vodafone unveiled the plan at a press conference in Tokyo. Vodafone K.K. has suffered an amazing downturn in Japan's wireless market as rivals NTT DoCoMo and KDDI continue to gain market share on the carrier. Turning around Vodafone K.K.'s business is a top priority for Vodafone.
