Vodafone's subscriber base passes 200M

Tools

Vodafone Group's third-quarter results yielded a few surprises: its subscriber base increased by 8.7 million net adds, totaling 198.6 million by the end of the quarter and total mobile revenue rose 6.1 percent. Voda's total subscriber base has since passed 200 million. Double-digit growth in the U.S. market, Egypt, South Africa and India far outpaced Western European markets, but core markets like Germany, Italy, Spain and the U.K. each showed good growth. Data revenue rose a whopping 32.2 percent on business applications and increasing 3G penetration. Registered 3G devices more than doubled to 12.5 million year-on-year.
