VZW inks $6B deal with Alcatel-Lucent

Verizon Wireless and Alcatel-Lucent inked a three-year deal worth about $6 billion. As part of the deal, Alcatel-Lucent will supply a wide variety of network equipment, software and services to Verizon Wireless for the build out of 1xEV-DO Rev. Alcatel-Lucent will also provide components of its A-IMS networking equipment that will enable Verizon Wireless to deploy VoIP, push-to-talk, mobile video telephony and IP-based services. The vendor is also supporting the VZW network with network integration and installation services as well as repair and maintenance services.
