Wi-Fi Alliance to pre-certify pre-n products

The Wi-Fi Alliance says it is going to pre-certify the interoperability of pre-802.11n products in the first half of 2007--before the IEEE ratifies the standard in 2008. Much to the Wi-Fi Alliance's chagrin, vendors in the WiFi market no longer seem to wait for standards to come out. Those that wait simply lose out on market share. The Wi-Fi Alliance also knows that pre-n equipment is in demand since they boost both capacity and speed for WiFi users.
